MMA CUBS GRADING END of Year

5 Nov 2020 by Jim O'DONNELL

As we all are well aware, it’s been a crazy stressful year. (To say the least)
But the light at the end of the tunnel is near, and a little glimmer of hope is upon us.
It’s been really hard trying to learn and teach via zoom this year, and the pressure is on to put it all together for the final showcase of the kid’s skills.

We’re saddened to say that some of our senior belts have finished up during the covid period due to life commitments, work, school, etc, and we have also gained some new faces to the club, so welcome to the new members and best of luck for those who have parted ways with the club. We will miss you all.

So I’ve taken a look at the calendar and tried to keep it in line with school holidays/break up as best we can. The last grading we broke the night up to complete over two nights due to the lengthy duration of all techniques needed for demonstration and found it to be successful, so we will continue with this format.

Wednesday the 9th of December, 5:30 pm (Don’t be late, gym open from 5 pm to settle any last-minute nerves, pep talk, etc.) All belts from White belt up to blue belt. Those attempting their blue belts will have to demonstrate the bully battle.

Thursday the 10th of December, 5:30 pm As above, don’t be late. All belts must attend, white belts through to blue belts will be seated to support and encourage the senior belts.

Blue belts up to black belts will be demonstrating their techniques for grading. At the conclusion of it, ALL belts will be on the mat in full sparring gear to complete the grading process.

Belts and certificates will be presented at the conclusion of the grading.
Due to covid and restrictions with group gatherings, we will not be having a breakup Xmas party this year, instead, the CUBS will be presented with a lolly bag.

I’ll be assessing all kids over the next couple of weeks, if your child is new and only started this month, they will be partaking in the grading, and may even be awarded a stripe or two, some may even be able to be promoted to Red belt. No pressure for the instructors.

I’ll submit grading notices once I’ve determined what ranking they’ll be attempting.
Thursday the 10th of December will be the last training day for the year for the CUBS.

The adults will continue through as normal.

Any questions please don’t hesitate to give me a call.

Regards,
Jim
